Warning: I done did something dumb. Stupidity follows.
Prior to me being a dumbass and dropping it. The mirror on the left is gone. I poured one out for it.
Good news. I officially take posses sion of my new pad today. Have the keys and heading over there after work. Loaded the bike into the truck to facilitate easier moving on Saturday when the movers show up.
Bad news. I dumped the bike when loading it. I was trying to hurry, things weren’t lined up well for a couple reasons, didn’t feel good about it, and tried any way.
Good news. The bike should be paid off if the transfer went through correctly and I have full coverage. Even better, the damage isn’t catastrophic. Needs a new mirror, scuffed the fairing and some spots on the frame. Needs a new rear tail fairing. That took the most damage.
Do I replace the rear fairing and mirror and wear the scuffs as badges of stupidity? Do I file a claim? It’s only a 125 deductible and can drop to liability only after. Do I try to fix it myself?
I’m leaning towards filing a claim. I can easily see this being over 1K once you factor in disassembly, parts, prep, paint, and reassembly.
What say Oppo?
Rear fairing needs to be replaced.
That’s not going to buff out.
Frame scuffs. Honestly, I have to idea how this would get painted/repaired.
More minor frame scuffs.

Dont worry about the subframe or swingarm scratches. For the fairings, see what you can find on ebay. EDIT: check 675.net too. The are both pretty easy to swap out. Personally I would leave I as is but then again I crash a lot/race. My post crash 675R for your time:

I’d like to do a custom paint job but I’d have to do it with rattle cans and I’m not sure it would come out very well. Maybe a wrap?

Wrap and paint is more affordable than you think. Talk to the local race club guys, they tend to know who does a good job/who does it cheap.
We have a guy locally who sprays racebikes for $100, provided you do the sanding and tear down.

Ouch. Damage done to your own vehicle is the worst, because it is your fault. No one else to blame.
Suck to have to make an insurance claim, so as others have said it is worth seeing what the replacements will cost you and go from there.

On my bike, the ‘cowlings’ on the front fairing are what hits every time I dum
p it- So they got painted black with truck bed liner.. and when it gets re-scuffed, I just hit it again with quick blast of liner. Easy-peasy.
Couple of black racing strips could hide all the damage on your bike!

Invest in some frame sliders as well. I’ve tipped mine over a few time forgetting to put the kickstand down (DOH!) and have basically no damage.
